跨領域合作已成為21世紀國際情勢發展的主流。公共衛生議題不僅涉及環境衛生及保護的問題，更進一步影響人類之生命安全。除了WTO於2001年11月杜哈部長會議時，發表「貿易相關智慧財產權協定（TRIPS）與公共衛生宣言」之外，WTO秘書處更於2002年8月與世界衛生組織（WHO）聯名出版「WTO協定與公共衛生」（WTO
Agreements & Public Health），從政策實務層面進一步探索WTO各協定與公共衛生問題之連結，可見公共衛生議題已備受國際社會之矚目。在國際間相繼爆發SARS及禽流感後，更突顯出此議題的重要性。
有鑑於此，特別舉辦本項研討會，希望能對人類公共衛生安全問題作出具體有效之貢獻，並就公共衛生與貿易議題間之整合，提出未來進一步發展之方向。
值得一提的是，本次會議將有WTO、WHO及來自學界之各地知名學者、相關政府機構官員與會，包括聯合國CODEX前秘書長Dr.
Alan Randell、WTO秘書處智慧財產權處官員Mrs. Jayashree Watal、瑞士日內瓦大學社會公共衛生所所長Dr.
Rougemont等都是一時之選。
這些貿易與公共衛生領域之學者專家將與國內各界人士分享其寶貴經驗，並進行深入之意見交流，機會難得。本研討會全程免費，座位有限，歡迎您儘早報名參加
